Nvidia’s new CUDA 6 software development toolkit includes many new features that improve software developer productivity. One of these is support for remote development. Software engineers can now run CUDA 6 on their local workstations and synchronize the build process on remote servers, clusters, and high-performance computing systems. This is accomplished with an updated version of NSight Eclipse Edition Integrated Development Environment. The NSight IDE supports a complete remote development workflow where developers edit source code on their local workstation and then build, run, debug, and profile applications on remote GPU-enabled systems. This improvement in development workflow translates directly to more rapid deployment of GPU-enabled applications, reduced development costs, and higher quality software. Our software engineering staff is already seeing the benefits of CUDA 6 remote development capabilities and passing those along to customers.
